Sergio Momo is an Italian designer, founder and creative director of the perfume brand Xerjoff. He was born in Turin in 1964. He received an art education specializing in graphics and design, after which he moved to London, where he began collaborating with advertising publications. In 2003, he opened the creative agency Momo.Levy, which deals with brand management and design for third-party companies. In 2004, together with his business partner Domenico Salvo, he founded the perfume brand Xerjoff; Momo took responsibility for the creative direction of the brand, while Salvo became the head of the production processes. Momo sought to offer the perfume market a product that would not compromise on the quality of the fragrance and the quality of the packaging: as a designer, Momo himself develops the visual materials and the appearance of the packaging. To date, Momo has released about one and a half hundred fragrances under his brand. Successful lines include Casamorati 1888, dedicated to the ancient art of Italian perfumery, the agarwood-inspired Oud Stars series, and the Shooting Stars collection, which tells the story of the meteor shower that fell over Siberia in 1947; according to the brand’s official website, each bottle in this series comes with a real fragment of one of those meteorites.
